Darren Stainsby studied Athletic Therapy at Mount Royal University in Calgary and upon graduating started working at the Olympic Training Center in Calgary. After a short time, he opened his own clinic at the Olympic Training Center and worked with all the main national teams (hockey, bobsleigh, luge/skeleton, biathlon, etc). He was a member of the Canadian Olympic Medical Team from 1992 – 1998 and the therapist for the Norwegian bobsleigh team at the 2002 Olympics in Salt Lake.
In 1999 he started Altius Gruppen as a means to introduce medical/rehab products into the Norwegian market. In 2012 he opened, together with an Osteopath and another Physio, Altiusklinikken, a multidiciplined center in Hamar, Norway.
Darren has been using Laser/light clinically since 1994 and has been a member of the World Association of Laser Therapists (WALT) since 2014. He has a degree in Photobiomodulation – (PBM) from the University of Montpellier – faculty of medicine, Nimes and teaches there regularly.
The webinar provides an overview of what Laser (PBM) is and how it can be incorporated into clinical practice. Indications/contraindications, dosage and mechanisms of action will be included as well.
